The applicable indirect tax is the Canary Islands General Indirect Tax (IGIC) under Ley 20/1991. For this reason the company does not hold an EU VAT number listed in VIES. Business customers established outside the Canary Islands receive invoices without IGIC, and they account for tax under the rules of their own country where those rules so require.
